As
the last remaining soldier of
an army of ants crushed
by a group of scorpions, your sole purpose in life is
to rescue the queen-ant taken hostage only moments ago.
Eight chambers will have to be conquered before the
queen is saved. The tunnels will be patrolled by scorpions
who have sealed-up many parts of the chambers. The means
by which you can clear the passages are at your disposal
throughout the chamber. The correct ombination of objects
placed at the proper locations will usually cause a
chainreaction which clears obstacles (the firebutton
may have to be depressed to start a reaction). The chamber's
exit is at the bottom of the screen. This exit takes
you to the top of the next chamber. When the queen-ant
has been rescued, you will be taken to another colony
that has been overrun by scorpions...
Some
games are cool or have bad music, some games have an
excellent soundtrack and poor graphics, some games have
no music, dull graphics but still knock your socks off!
How?
Fire
Ant is a game purely based on lastability and hookability...
It's that game you wanna play over and over and over
again in need to reach the next level, in need
to finish the game. It'll take no time before the platformer
keeps you chained at your dusty C64 for hours, for days...
When
you load the game for the first time, you might think
"bwaah, I've seen this before, there are thousands of
such games..." Well, this game is so addictive, it has
so much hookabilty, that it's a must to complete it!
The sound and the graphics are standard for the time,
but the playability is extremely good. It's one of my
all time favourites!
The
game is pretty tough. After several headaches, being
frustrated, pissed off, after several suicide notes
(eh...) you'll find yourself making some real progress
here, all in order to save the Queen!
In
conclusion, although there's no sound worth mentioning
and the graphics ain't top nor bad for that time, this
is *that* cute little game that'll last forever and
ever... The fantastic gameplay makes **Fire Ant** a
true winner, end of story...
Save
the queen!
