I understand. Thanks for the advice - I didn't know I could do that with winrar. I'll see what I can do here. Thanks again.

I have tried using the included dat file with the full nointro set (3,407 zipped roms), and after letting clrmamepro run its course, it said only 200+ roms were fixed, the rest it said were unneeded, or named incorrectly. At the beginning of the scan, it said, "the following non-empty rompaths don't contain any valid set. Either you have selected the wrong paths or all sets have the wrong names." So I've tried this dat with the goodset snes, and the nointro set, with no luck. Any ideas?

The problem will be the Format of the files.
as many SNES dumps are for different copiers.
Pro-Fighter, Multi Game Hunter, Super Wildcard, Magicom

so even though you have a Good ROM set.
they might need converting to all the same cart format (.SMC).
Good Tools can do this.

Thank you for the update, mad. I'm confused, though, because I have just extracted my goodset snes, and was about to rezip them as described, but there are 11,337 rom now! That's over 16 GB!! These ultra-collections of roms are ridiculous. All I need are the 900+ that are used with gamebase. How do I clean them out? Is there another .dat I should use? If not, how does everybody else here manage?

Are you sure, you're trying the correct console ?

Looks to me like you're trying to use a NES set.

In my NES set there's a NESHave.txt file :
You have 13337 of 13337 known Nintendo Famicom/NES ROMS (V3.10).

Looks like you need to look for a SNES set before you can use the datfile.

You are mistaken, the SNES good set has 11337 files. The number has a meaning of sorts....I doubt the NES set would unzip to 16.5 gigs either.

Thank you, mad, for the updated fix. I was just about to ask what I was doing wrong, because all I was getting was a parse error, and then I saw you posted the new fix. Worked like a charm! Well, almost like a charm - verifying files, it now says missing 5 games. Any idea about that? I can live with that, though, if there's no fix. I used the Super Nintendo -- Famicom (GoodSNES 2.04)[GoodMerged] set. I'm so glad that this worked, because 890 roms is a lot better than 11,337! Just over 1.2 GB now. Thanks again.

these are only the Missing / Incorrectly named files i know about?

Alfred Chicken
Super Alfred Chicken (E).ZIP

World CUP USA 94 (E) [!].ZIP

*Williams Arcade
Arcade's Greatest Hits (U) [!].ZIP

*only hack or Fix available
Undercover Cops (J) [F1].ZIP

*Looney Tunes
ACME Animation Factory (U).ZIP

*Skins Game
Irem Skins Game, The (U).ZIP

found out these have different names from the NO-Intro set
so they missed the verify.

it will only take a few seconds to copy these files to the ROM dir
and edit the gamebase.

or post your verify file so i can fix the missing ROMs.
