Hi there!
In the past few weeks I've developed a completely new GameBase64 frontend for Mac OS X. This is completely unrelated to the previous efforts or jGameBase.
[I want to link to some screenshots here, but I'm a newbie on this forum, so it won't let me. :-/ Anyway, imagine mind-blowing design and unprecedented ease of use here.]
It supports fast searching, browsing in a table or a screenshot grid view, allows people to manage collections of games, and it has optional color correction for the GB64 screenshots and lots of other goodies.
I'm looking for a proper way of getting the teams opinion on this, since I want to adhere to the license agreement. I'm not exactly sure about some of the details.
Basically .mdb is a non-option on Mac OS X, so I've converted the current (and previous) databases to sqlite3 format. The application will automatically download the database file matching the user's data files from my server.
Please note that this is not a real frontend for people who want create/maintain the database. There are no editing features. It's purely a browsing frontend for users.
Anyway, please let me know if it's fine to release this, since it's basically finished now.
And I also want to take the opportunity to thank all of you for the great work you've done so far. I found countless old games that I've already forgotten about while working on this. The quality of your work is outstanding.
Cheers,
Andreas

Hi again
Is your app open source? The GB frontend is under the GNU GPL, so to comply with that license it would have to be too. For the GB64 license, you'd have to ask some of the other team. Pugsy and Michael Plate maybe able to help you further, try sending them a PM.
Cheers

Looks excellent.
As long as your frontend is completely free (open source is a bonus) I see no problem, though it may be better to host the sqlite3 database on the gb64 site:
This was Michael's original response for jGamebase in 2006:-

We could add a download for the converted db on our website and you refer to our page. As long as it is available from our page only, I see no problem.
