The ESI (Eagle Soft Inc) crach that is featured in the Gamebase is corrupt. For more info chek:

The Alpha Flight version is also corrupt.

The Radwar version works 100%.

I posted some links to Lemon posts where we discussed the issue but the GB forum did not let me post them.

There was a Gossip that it was possible maniac mansion with Zak Mc Kracken. So that you can use a oxygen bottle etc. on the Mars. But I have never seen such version. Later, in a computer magazine was something to read, that this would work. There was such solution described. But I suppose this was all gossip or exists a manipulated Version of Maniac Mansion. I suppose that Lucas Arts never made these things? icon_confused.gif

I heared that gossip too but I don't think it can ever work. If it appeared in a magazine, maybe you'd check if this happened to be on the 1st of April. :)

Interesting, I come from Germany. I miss the magazine. Possible it was the ASM or the Power Play. All this magazines I borrowed from my neighbour. So I don't have the magazines today. I own some but in my editions is nothing to read. But I am sure that it was in a magazine to read. And I suppose it was not an april edition. (my mind)

i think that they are just bad backups.
and not a bug in the actual game code.

i think (my memory is a little rusty)
the load error was something to do with
Putting the cassette tape in the cassette recorder.

i know a good version was found a while ago.
it just needs the extra sectors on the disk to be copied correctly.
a normal disk copy /backup doesn't do the job.
