Just thought I'd make a quick report.
So far, I've worked my way through to the letter P - and I've managed to clean up a lot of the files, and put some order into the whole collection. Better versions of games have been examined and selected, and some have been crunched.
As a bonus, I managed to fish out the complete 3D Construction Set. It was hiding inside a disk image called "Obscure" something or other, in the collection of zipped images starting with O. In order to get it to work, you have to load a small program down the bottom of the directory (it's clearly marked), which then loads the program proper. You have to load that program first otherwise the editor won't decrunch properly.
Will let everyone know when I am done so people can playtest what I have done so far. Then I will make an attempt to remove as many disk images as possible that don't need to be disks, and crunch those games that are just SYS starters with a BASIC loader.
Welcome to the Gamebase 64 forums. An attempt to document ALL Commodore 64 gameware before it's too late!

If someone would like to put an MDB together, please do so!
Thigns to do with this collection as far as I can see:-
a) get MDB sorted out
b) link screenshots, covers
c) clean up D64 images so that they can be easily autostarted by emulators
d) crunch programs that don't need D64s
e) clean up the TAP collection
f) double check for missing games
g) crunch games that can be crunched
h) make D64,T64 versions of TAP only games
i) lots of game testing in emulators
PUCRUNCH needs fixing before I can go crazy crunching really. It doesn't work on all programs thanks to a few bugs in the code - but where it DID work, I used it in this collection
No, this is only as far as I have got..mad. wrote: do you have the MDB file with the games linked yet?.
or is this just how far you have got.

Better try to exomizer also for +4 files. (use -t4 option)
http://hem.bredband.net/magli143/exo/
Yape outstands Vice xplus4 in every aspect, xplus4 it's not very mantained, almost abandoned I'd say.
There is also another +4 emulator out there, and comes with a dedicated cross cruncher aswell

Thanks for the tip on exomizer.
Already I have found a pile of small BASIC games in an archive that I forgot to add to the collection. I am sifting through them and adding them. Some of these games have been missed by the plus 4 world catalog too, so things are improving from where I left off already.
After that, I will clean up the D64s and TAPs, and once I have done that I will reupload the collection as it stands.

Please excuse my ignorance but is the Plus 4 the same system as a C16 ?
Reason I ask is there are 2 Gamebases this one & Gamebase c16 (http://www.gb64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=502). I don't want two Gamebases for the same system and with .Mad's previous work being ace, i'm gonna plump for his .
Lastly is there anywhere I can get the complete download ? The above link no longer allows me to download.

Hi Hidron
I have that gamebase too but I am assuming that there is a newer one as the plus4 gamebase mentioned on here :-
http://www.bu22.com/_index.php?start=20
Is 317mb and has more games than the one on UG which is 258mb. Also the UG version is dates 2008 and the bu22.com version says last updated 2010
Is there a newer plus4 gamebase?

Does anyone have the download for this please? I checked online but it seems all links have expired, and can't find anywhere hosting this GB.
