Games don't pass the "loading" screen

Wed Aug 02, 2006 2:10 pm

When I try playing, for example, Tink Tonk games (I tried a few others, same problem) it got to the loading screen, did its little sound effect, but doesn't go past there. I'm using Win Vice v1.19
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Check you've got True Drive emulation on. And press space. And if that doesn't work, check that space isn't configured as one of the joystick keypresses.

GB doesn't start with that as a default. When I start winVice on my own, load the game, type: LOAD"BOOT",8,1
it gets to that screen, pressing space doesn't help (it's not a joystick key). When I load it not from GB I get this message after some time:
SYSTEM FAILURE
CODE #
001--000-136
DISK DRIVE ERROR
PUSH F7 TO REBOOT

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Why don't you try the CCS64 emulator? It's as good as Vice and may solve your problem...

Having just checked the game(s) myself...

- definitely needs True Drive Emulation on
- does not work in Vice (you get that boot error as mentioned)
- does work in CCS v3
