i'd like to download your msx gamebase
i have msx1 and ms2 already, but it lacks some games and other don't work
the sendkey timings are slowed down in the new MSXCLDR.EXE.
This is mainly for Win7, which starts the emulator 1 second slower than XP.
it is available in the MSX WORLD script folder with the (7) icon.
So use that version and blueMSX script v5.

as freenit mentioned above, you MUST set the keyboard to UK in language settings.
The keystrokes are sent from the EXE file not the script.
so they can not be easily edited.
This was done before GameBase had the sendkeys command.

I would say 99% of games in the GameBases work in BlueMSX.
there are a few ROM mappers or protected disk loaders that do not work.

If you are adding new games, and they do not work.
You are missing the Machine, memory or Load command in GEMUS.
read the script for some examples.

every game in MSX1 and MSX2 GameBases are pre-configured.
so should all work with the new MSXCLDR with a UK keyboard setting.

i know you won't do it. :wink:
but if you put GameBase in C:\GameBase\ it will solve a lot of problems.
you do not need all the Games, Extras, Screens etc on C: just Gamebase.exe, emulator and the MDB file.

What games are missing from your download?
maybe they are missing because they didn't work or the file was not available to download at the time.

freenit wrote: I have a working version of the game called Akin (Unprotected)
also a working version of Invaders Revenge, the one in tosec reboots when the game starts...
please can you upload those 2 working games.
i would like to compare them in a hex editor, and see what has been patched.

That torrent is HUGE at 32GB
After removing duplicates it will be more like 4GB.
then sorting and removing bad files and alternate versions will reduce it further.

your GameBase will be a monster, if you add all those. :)
I can create a MDB with all the game files added if you like.
But many will need repacking to work in GameBase.

Akin (MSX2) (Unprotected). You need to rename the files to .dsk. (2 dsks)
https://mega.nz/#F!IJ5wxQzQ!wr0PHdezVEfO6BFbxpP3Tw

Invaders Revenge. You need to create a .dsk with the files and execute the bas file. If you dont know how to do it let me know.

CRC-32: 6865324b

File: INVADER3.BIN
CRC-32: 71606c99

File: INVADER.BAS
CRC-32: 741aca9e

It's possible, but not that easy to do.
The file does lots of editing and has many commands.
a few still not available in gamebase.
It would partly work, but very easy for the user to break the loading process. By clicking mouse or pressing a key.

I can make the MSXCLDR use your country keyboard map.
All i need is the keys used for "SPEECH" and :COLON:
*that is the key pressed in the emulator to get QUOTE and COLON at the MSX DOS prompt.

example of UK keyboard in BlueMSX using following machines...

SPANISH
SPEECH = @
COLON = ¬

MSX2BRAZ
SPEECH = "
COLON = ?

MSX2JAP
SPEECH = "
COLON = '

UK
SPEECH = @
COLON = :

I would not hold your breath for any updates to the gamebase frontend.

Sorry to say
Jimbo does not have the time or interest in it at the moment.

the source code is available for all coders out there, but it would probably need a rewrite in .NET or C++.

Ok i have decided to spend a month updating my MSX Gamebase.
1st update will be new games (rare stuff found, and home brew) with added screenshots.

So far i have merged the MSX1 (up2) and MSX2 GameBases.
total of 2727 entries.
4300 game files are linked inc the Extras (ROM, CAS, DSK, HACK.)

if anyone wants there keyboard mapped in the loader?.
post your keys like the example shown above.
i need at least those four emulated machines.

You can already support videos in Gamebase with a small trick...
1. use the "play music" button

That's what i do in my VIC-20 GB

or :
2. put it as "extras" into your GB

"Real" support of video clips in GB would be better, of course...
GB done: Philips VG 5000, Sord-M5, Acorn Atom, Enterprise v1.00
