Super GameBase W.I.P thread

As I mentioned in the GameBase SNES thread I'm working on a new GameBase project for SNES called Super GameBase.
This is based on the No-Intro romset with a few exceptions such as the game Nightmare Busters which isn't in that yet.

So far there's
- 911 games with screenshots
- 689 games linked with music
- 40 games linked with an unofficial english translation

I'll only add fan translations as an extra to the original japanese game and only final/finished translations.

You can try out the first alpha release if you like.
Clicky.
I haven't included the roms so you'll have to get a hold of the No-Intro set.
If you already have the so-called "goodset" you can download the dat from No-Intro website and rename them.
But before you do that it's a good idea to download NSRT and remove the headers and de-interleave the roms.
Otherwise chances are that no many of the roms will be recognized by the No-Intro dat.

I just noticed that you changed the "Game Genres"!!! How the hell do you do that? I need to know.

Anyways here's a few things I am noticing...
The game you call "2020 Super Baseball" is really "Super Baseball 2020".
You are missing the US version of ActRaiser 2.
The game you call "Yogi Bear" is "The Adventures of Yogi Bear" and you are missing the US rom.
"Alfred Chicken" is called "Super Alfred Chicken", (at least in the US) and you are missing that rom also.
You are missing "Arcade's Greatest Hits - The Atari Collection 1 (USA).zip" rom.

Are you leaving out the US roms in favor of the Europe roms? If you have left them out intentionaly I will stop bothering to tell you.
Hey do you even want this stuff or am I just annoying you? Let me know if you want my bug reports. I'll stop now.

I have the latest No-Intro set, they just need to be added in GameBase.

Btw I added the game Nightmare Busters as Nightmare Busters (Europe) (Proto).sfc, and as I see you're a No-Intro dumper doesn't that filename look correct to you ?

Nope, not a dumper (you are thinking of alcoatjez). I am a scanner and collector of all game related scans. I have also made a couple Gamebases myself (NES, VB) and reworked a couple that were made by others. But, to answer you question, the name looks fine.

I personaly just wanted a US SNES gamebase. I was going to wait for you to finish and just delete the international games from my personal set-up.
Then after a few days I decided it would be quicker to just finish off the US portion of your Super GB for myself.

Anyways...long story short, I bring all of this up because I want to let you know that as I am going thru here I am finding ALOT of mis-information in your GB. There are many games where you have the Developer and Publisher reversed and many more that are just plain wrong. If you want I can give you what I have so far (or when I'm done) so you can look it over and adopt the info into your GB.
I am using the Official Nintendo SNES Release list for dates (they even have some bad publisher info on a few games). And checking the rest of the data against A- MobyGames, B-Gamespot, C- what is in the game credits.

Also I have alot of extras (manuals, guides) that you are missing. If you are interested I can send them your way.

Just let me know if you want my help.... 8)

Referencing the Digital Press online guide might also provide a lot of information...

I started from scratch, there was just too many errors and stuff in the database.
Anyway, I have 3163 games in the new database and I have just started adding info for each game.

As you can see there's still a long way to go.
So please be patient, it will be finished just not any time soon.

Btw if anybody could help create scripts for Sufami Turbo, Same Game, Gundam G Next and BS-X roms, I would be upmost grateful.
These games require a "mother" cart to work and BS-X games requires BS-X bios to be loaded simultaneously in the emulator.

Snes9x, SnesGT, ZSNES and BSNES are the ones I have setup.

Retroplay, my friend, how's your project? Any new releases?? :)

No not yet.

Since GB 1.3 now supports 7zip archives I have repacked all games from zip to 7z.
More game info, music and screenshots has been added but due to a lack of time it's not progressing as fast as I would have liked it to.
It is however slowly going forward.

Btw if there's any script wizards reading this, I still need help with the Sufami Turbo, Same Game, Gundam G Next and BS-X games.
