GBC Feature Request: Search in comments (advanced)

Sat Oct 17, 2015 7:31 pm

It just came to my mind that this would be a great addition for the Advanced Search in GBC. (not necessarily the Simple Search, though)

Current example (as of v14): # 16202 (Planeet der Gevaren) has been removed from Gamebase for a good reason, as it was a hack of an English game with just some texts changed.
The game in question is NEOCLYPS (# 5175, http://www.gb64.com/game.php?id=5175&d=18 ).

Now look what the comment text is saying:
a.k.a. "Neoclips", "Planeet der Gevaren" - read Notes
Perfect! Now think that a Dutch user comes along, who only remembers the Dutch (fake) name.
By searching in Comment field, he might find a match to the actual game he could no longer remember up to now.

Side-effect:
People will no longer suggest "new games not in Gamebase" which are simply hacks, since they will now be able to search for the fake name(s) mentioned in Comments only.

Does sound like a good idea especially when it is an option in the Frontend/Offline database.
I have a lot of respect for Gamebase creators, maintainers & supporters.
