PM problems

Fri Sep 05, 2014 12:17 pm

1) at 1st I could not to read a new message in my inbox
2) then I tried to contact with Jimbo to resolve and have gotten
Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 454 4.7.1 : Relay access denied DEBUG MODE Line : 40 File : /var/www/GB64/site/forum/includes/smtp.php

This looks as a restiction to use PM. I did not make commercial spam and nothing wrong. I do not understand why I was rectricted to use PM.

Thanks, mad. Things have become more clear.
Will be hoping the PM function will return soon.

Hi all,

the pm function is fixed now. We moved to new servers and things might still be a bit bumpy - but bumpy and much faster ;-)

Cheers,

Steve

Seems I've learned something again after all...

Up to now, I thought that SMTP is solely for real e-mail, with a worldwide accessible e-mail address. Though SMTP will come into effect when you want to get notified from within a forum by personal e-mail, I was almost entirely sure that it can be bypassed completely if you restrict your messaging to the forum's built-in user-to-user messenger (aka PM).
