Scripts for Vice-True Drive Emulation.

Thu Oct 02, 2003 5:49 am

Hello, I dont quite understand the language the scripts Gamebase uses when managing emulators.

Anyone know a good script for WinVice ?

Some games require true drive emulation whle others dont and since Vice keeps turning True Drive Emulation off by default.

Is there something I should add to the script in the default one so Vice would always start with True Drive Emulation.

Default Script.
Add_CLP(%gamepathfile%)
Run_Emulator()
:?

Thanks I didnt know, guess i wasnt registered here a month ago then.

Well copied and pasted that long script correctly, with all the carriage returns and ; in the correct places.

Now get the message "Invalid file referenced in script function, Do you want to continue running the game anyway?"

I say Yes but it doesnt turn on True-Drive-emulation.
Either because this script was for WinVice 1.12, and ive got WinVice 1.13, or some other unknown reason.

ANy ideas anyone ?

No that script works without problems on Winvice 1.13.
Do it like this, this really worked for me.

1. Open up the script text file in your web browser
2. Select ALL the text (CTRL + A)
3. Copy it all (CTRL+C).
4. In Gamebase open up the WinVICE menu via the GEMUs option on the toolbar (if WINVICE is your preferred emulator you can just press Shift + F1).
5. Click on the Script Code window and press CTRL +A to highlight all the text.
6. Press CTRL+V to paste the copied text from earlier
7. Click on OK and the jobs a good 'un.

I got it to work !! :D

Ill had done everything correctly the The Grue mentioned as above but didnt bother actually reading the ";" statements.

I had my emulator settings a little wrong, and also didnt not know you could associated the file Vice.ini in GB and also must remmeber to put the TDE=YES Command in EMUS window!

This is great, no more having about my Vice settings again....

Once again... Thanks !!!
