In this situation it uses Kickstarts from path of Gamebase "Amiga 500-1200", because CDTV-CD32 & A500-A1200 share the same config (except specific .uae files for specific platform).

Amiga 500 - 1200 MINI ZERO CONFIGURATION MODE
It contains 250 of the best games only (ADF, WHDLoad). Of course You can copy CDTV-CD32 & A500-A1200 to the same folder (i.e.: c:\gamebase ... z:\gamebase), execute '_run.bat' and everything still be working with no manual configuration

Code: Select all

https://mega.co.nz/#!1Y0khaoT!IhyYz7pQUf_Nojspq7fSlxcK0OJcLjEYPpBHXTfu6C8
If You want any Gamebase compilation with ZERO CONFIGURATION MODE (MINI or FULL edition), just ask. Full list always available in my upload.

As for now You may think "I have everything configured, I don't need it" and YOU MAY BE RIGHT..... for now. But think about future:
1. New Windows installation and new Gamebase/emulators configuration
2. Play with Your friend/wife/kid with '2 player mode' (almost like 20 years ago) with 2 XBOX ONE/XBOX 360 joypads with no manual configuration
3. Safe run Gamebase from pendrive in Your job (batch do silent installations & hides it, activates FULL SCREEN / WINDOW mode - created for 'safety')

Decision is Yours

After downloading the HUGE CD32 Gamebase.

you will need to remove underscore from the begining of these two files...

Games\CDTV\_Air Warrior.rar
Games\Unofficial\_[Demo] Microcosm.rar

And without a WinUAE.ini file the config and kickstart paths are stored in the registry.
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1960408961-1788223648-1417001333-1004\Software\Arabuusimiehet\WinUAE]

So it will not work direct from Gamebase on the first run.

Easily fixed.

Create blank text file called "winuae.ini"
put it in the same directory as winuae.exe

Open WinUAE emulator.

1) Select Settings/Paths from left hand side window.
2) Tick - Use relative paths
3) Choose WinUAE default (EXE directory) from pull-down option.
4) Click Reset to defaults
5) Change System ROMs: path to ".\kickstart"
6) Click Rescan ROMs.
7) Enjoy Dax's amazing upload.

To do all job for user batches import Kickstart data to CURRENT USER key & "Zmianasciezkinet2.exe" changes drive letter to actual on first execute of '_run.bat'. Tnx for info about 2 underscores and for winuae.ini (better than import to Registry and independent of other Amiga GB's)

LONG-TERM 'HOME' fOR GB COLLECTIONS

Sat Feb 21, 2015 10:54 am

I hope this works. I have not been able to visit for a long time and am stugling to post / reply, etc.

Firstly thank you very much for everyone involved in development of the various GB collections. Especially to dax, freenit, .mad, etc. for their tireless efforts to repeatedly upload files.

I have lost my Spectrum GB and have discovered that the last upload of SpeccyMania v4 wich was done on Fri Feb 14, 2014 by dax is no longer active. I will realy appreciate it someone can reup this. (anytime when possible)

Following another discussing, I discovered that the Internet Archive is hosting a Vintage Software Collection . This contains a number of DOS Game collections. several Demobases, etc.

Most of these have been there for a number of years. I would therefore suggest that this might be suitable to house some of the Gamebase collections on a more permanent basis

For those of you that might be interested I can also mention that the Internet Archive also hosts a very large collection of vintage computer magazines (Acorn, Beeb, C64, Spectrum ++)
.

All of the very best.

Sepp

ps Despite the fact that I have that mandatory 5 posts under the belt, I were forced to remove the variousl links from this post. You can easily find them through Google or sent me a PM.

[quote="dax"]ZX Spectrum aka Speccymania (ZERO CONFIGURATION MODE)

Thank you very much for this and the other recent uploads.

I expierenced quite a bit of trouble with Mega, but managed after I installed the plug-in. Nou the unzip process - is it possible to use 7-zip for this? The stable version 9.2 was unable to do the job, I then upgraded to 9.38 Beta which unzipped .z01 and .z02 parts, but ignored the .zip part and gave 7 errors in the process. Any advice or do I have to get the latest Winzip for this?

For information, the Links to the recent uploads of the ARARI 5200 and ATARI 2600 collections are unfortunately already dead again. (?)
