I'm trying to get the sega megadrive database (420/sexy wayne) to run on gamebase v1.3. When I try to run gamebase with the sega genesis database it tells me that ....
"Gamebase needs to update your database to version 2.8"
I click yes to try and update it and it gives an error
"Error updating database! Your database my be corrupt!"
I know it is not corrupt since I was able to run it under gambase 1.1
any suggestions?

This error happens when using gamebases created with v1.3, on Gamebase v1.2 and some Beta versions of v1.3.
make sure you are using the very latest version of the Gamebase v1.3 full setup from here.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gamebas ... base/v1.3/
This should fix the problem on the first load automatically.
If not...
Use the Gamebase Toolbox v1.3 (included with the full setup) to scan and fix errors on the mdb file.

The problem you have is 100% a wrong gamebase version.
you are using an MDB created in gamebase v1.2 or v1.3 beta.
v1.2 gamebases will update to v1.3 when run in Gamebase v1.3 full.
But they are not backwards compatible afterwards.
i think you should uninstall all versions of the gamebase frontend,
this should fix any problems you have.
this is the SMD.mdb file tested and working in v1.3 full.
