who would of thought such a small wooden console,
would have a huge gamebase.
...And this is just the US released games + foreign originals. When you add in all the pirates and other carts from around the world, it is near 4000 games.

So did you figure it out?
Truth is you should not have to use the toolbox but if it helped you....great.

Yeh sorted it. Was looking for an install.exe like the other gamebase stuff. Never found one so used the toolbox to set up an Atari then copied all the files to that location and it worked perfect after setting up the paths.

??

I downloaded all the seperate zips (8 parts).
After extraction there is no .mdb file included.
Also, there are tons of extras, but few roms..
Is the 8 parter a complete ver of the Atari gamebase, or is this still a work in progress?
I downlaoded the originally avail .mdb (only numbers and the letter 'a'), is there a new ver of the MDB available for download?

regards,
Arthur.

Downloaded it yesterday, had to re-download 1 file because of an error on extraction. But everything there once extracted.

Yeah, I don't know how to make a sexy installer like some of the big GBs have... But all you need to do drop the "Atari 2600" folder into your GB install folder and then run it and set up your paths and emulators. 8)
I'm glad you got it working. Enjoy, I put alot of work into this one.

@arthur
It sounds like something is corrupted or bad. That big download is a finished GB ,well I am always tweeking things and adding what I can, but it is damn near as complete as it can get.
Are all the files the same size (execpt the last one)?
Open it up with WinRAR and click test....is the archive OK?
I'm not sure what to tell you... :?
Where did you grab it from, torrent or DDL? (that's direct download link, BTW)

hmmm.

I did the direct download.
All the same size (95,704kb), apart from the 8th part (84,749kb)
The thing is there was no complain upon extraction.
The contents are the usual files.

I will try again.
:)
the emulators, extras, and ini etc files are there.
just no games, no mdb etc etc.

odd observation...

it does not seem to prompt for the 3rd rar when I do an integrity test of the archive.

error gone away.

I re-downloaded the 8 rars, and it all works.
grrr....

anyway, I am happily now using the gamebase.
thanks for the sterling task.

Dear.

On Mon Feb 02, 2009, user42 posted links to a "Gamebase Atari 2600" (first page of this thread).

Unfortunately, the links do not work anymore.

Could somebody post new links on some sharehoster?

Would be so great!

Elmar

This is the main GameBase and ROMs.

This does not include the 712MB EXTRAS Folder.
